Despite losing their first game since February 24, Oregon State remains atop the NCAA Baseball Top-25 rankings for a sixth consecutive week. Tuesday’s mid-week matchup with Gonzaga was cancelled by rain and, 24 hours later, the Beavers’ school-record 23-game winning streak was washed away with a 3-2 loss to Washington at Husky Stadium. Undeterred, Pat Casey’s squad rode the stellar starting pitching of Bryce Fehmel and Jake Thompson to capture the final two games in Seattle and secure a fifth straight series victory while ballooning their PAC-12 lead to five games over Arizona and UCLA.

Louisville leapfrogs from fourth to second following a 4-0 week, extending their current winning streak to six games. The Cardinals hammered Purdue 13-2 and played rude guests at Russ Chandler Stadium in Atlanta, sweeping Georgia Tech and taking the top spot in the ACC by a half-game over Clemson, who concludes their series with Florida State on Monday. Brendan McKay was the star of the week for Dan McDonnell’s Cards, hitting .538 (7-for-13) with a double, two home runs, six RBI and six runs scored while spinning a 1-hitter over eight innings in Friday’s 3-0 victory.

TCU slips one spot to third after losing their second series of the season, both away from Lupton Stadium, en route to a 2-2 week. The Horned Frogs defeated crosstown rival Dallas Baptist, 9-3, before losing two of three in a nail-biting series at West Virginia. In the series opener, TCU rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth to tie the Mountaineers, 4-4, only to see the hosts walk off a winner a half-inning later. Jim Schlossnagle’s club erased a 6-1 deficit to tie the series with an 8-6 Saturday triumph, but a pair of bases-loaded walks in the bottom of the ninth, on Sunday, gave West Virginia a second 5-4 walk-off win and the series victory.

Clemson retreats a position to fourth, despite a 2-1 campaign. Monte Lee’s club needed 11 innings to dispatch Charleston Southern 6-5 on Tuesday and split a pair of contests at Florida State in a series that concludes on Monday. In the opener at Dick Howser Stadium, the Tigers built an early 9-0 lead, trailed 10-9 after seven innings, and cashed in on a pair of ninth-inning FSU errors with a 2-RBI single from Seth Beer for a 12-10 victory. Sunday’s contest wasn’t, nearly, as dramatic as the Seminoles scored early and often for a 7-3 win.

The ACC-Coastal leader, North Carolina, holds firm in fifth following a 3-1 week. The Tar Heels manhandled South Carolina, 20-5, at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte and took two of three from Tobacco Road rival North Carolina State at Boshamer Stadium. Following the demolition of the Gamecocks, J.B. Bukauskas and Luca Dalatri, each, tossed stellar starts in a pair of UNC wins, but couldn’t overcome an early 4-run deficit in a 4-2 loss on Sunday.

Arizona and Texas Tech, each, posted 3-1 weeks to remain in sixth and seventh, respectively, Virginia and Mississippi State registered impressive 3-1 campaigns to move up one place to eighth and ninth, respectively, and Wake Forest rolled to a 5-0 week to make its debut in the top ten.

LSU leads the best of the rest, moving up one notch to 11th, Long Beach State rises a spot to 12th, West Virginia, off its series win over TCU, advances two places to 13th, Kentucky ascends three to 14th and Florida jumps four positions to 15th.

Michigan, fresh off their three-game sweep of Oklahoma, returns to the rankings at #16, Wright State moves ahead three spots to 17th, McNeese State cracks the top-20, up four to 18th, Vanderbilt retreats five places to 19th and Houston slips two notches to 20th.

Rounding out the rankings, Cal State Fullerton moves up four spots to 21st, South Carolina falls six to 22nd, Oklahoma plunges from 8th to 23rd, Mercer makes its 2017 debut at #24 and Southern Mississippi drops four positions to claim the 25th spot.
