Ponaganset moves to 12-0 behind goalie Curtis Briggs and super-freshman Ryan Watts.

(Woonsocket, RI)  Curtis Briggs registered his fourth overall shutout of the season between the pipes while Ryan Watts scored a goal and added a pair of assists to lead undefeated Ponaganset to a 3-0 victory over Warwick Vets at Adelard Arena in Rhode Island Division III hockey action.

Watts paired with junior Josh D’Alessio at 10:17 of the opening period as the latter scored his team-leading 16th goal, to give the only undefeated high school boys’ hockey team in Rhode Island a 1-0 advantage.

Co-captain Ethan Sederback notched his sixth goal of his senior season when Watts set him up with less than three minutes to play in the second period as Ponaganset (12-0-0) increased their lead to 2-0.

Watts put the final tally on the board, his 15th of the year, with his twin brother, Nate, and Tom Caine racking up helpers.

With his 30-save performance, Briggs ballooned his save percentage to .948, which moves him into the top-30 national rankings. Josh Belleville did his best to keep his squad in the contest, stopping 33 of 36 shots for Warwick Vets (6-7-0).

Ponaganset returns to the ice Saturday night at 7:30 to face Mt. Hope at Thayer Ice Arena in Warwick, RI while Warwick Vets hosts winless East Providence at the same venue, only 90 minutes earlier.
