The final week of the 2015 NFL campaign yielded few milestones as millions of fans waved “good-bye” to one of the greatest and most popular defensive players in league history.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed for 76 yards in a 30-24 win over Tennessee, becoming the 15th player to top the 12,000 rushing yards plateau (12,040). Despite a humbling 36-6 home loss to Seattle, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer joined 17 others in surpassing 40,000 passing yards (40,036) and Houston Texans punter Shane Lechler passed Sean Landeta for 2nd place all-time in punting yards with 60,746.

Oakland Raiders cornerback/safety Charles Woodson suited up for the final time, ending an 18-year career which will culminate with certain Hall of Fame enshrinement in Canton. Woodson, who played 11 seasons for the Raiders and seven with the Green Bay Packers, leaves the field as one of the greatest defenders in the history of the game. In addition to being a member of the Packers’ Super Bowl Championship team of 2010, he finishes his career tied for fifth in interceptions (65), 12th in interception return yards (966), tied for second in interception returns for touchdowns (11), tied for fifth in non-offensive touchdowns (13), tied for 41st in fumble return yards (142), tied for ninth in games started (251) and tied for 37th in games played (254). The 1997 Heisman Trophy winner from Michigan was named to eight Pro Bowls and made First-Team All-Pro three times, selected as the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1998 and was voted the 2009 Defensive Player of the Year.
