My Top-50 Country Songs of the 2000s

December 2, 2015

Wow. I figured this would be a six-hour project, after the ease with which I complied my Top-50 lists for the top rock songs of the 1990s and 2000s. I couldn’t have been more incorrect.

I figured that I’d start with 100 to 150 songs and, then, pare it down to my final 50. What I ended up with was, over, 400 songs with which to whittle down to the desired amount.

As noted in previous music lists, these are personal faves and not indicative of how high they charted or how many copies the song sold. Admittedly, there are many artists who didn’t make the list, through no fault of their own. Country music was so damned good throughout the decade. Yes, there are some artists who made the list twice: it’s just how everything shook out when it came down to the final 50 songs. Enjoy!!
