With Week 3 of the 2015 NFL season in the books, the biggest name moving up the All-Time Top-50 stats list was Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore. On the strength of a 14 carry/86 yard/2 touchdown rushing day as well as an 8-yard reception, the 11-year veteran from Miami-Florida passed O.J. Simpson and Corey Dillon for 18th on the league’s rushing list. Also, Gore passed Hall of Famers Larry Csonka and Thurman Thomas as well as two others and tied three other NFL greats for 36th in rushing touchdowns (66). In addition, Gore’s 94 yards from scrimmage moved him past Fred Taylor for 28th in that category as well as past Taylor and Hall of Famer Bobby Mitchell for 44th on the all-purpose yards list. Meanwhile, Gore’s teammate, kicker Adam Vinatieri, shrugged off two lackluster weeks to pass Jason Hanson for 3rd place on the all-time scoring list (2,152).

Players cracking the top-50 in particular categories included Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte, who passed James Brooks and Garrison Hearst on the all-time rushing list for 49th place. New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston caught four passes for 47 yards in a 27-22 loss at Carolina and passed Rob Moore for 50th in receiving yards (9,384) as well as moving past Laveranues Coles for 46th in receptions (677). Despite a loss to Cincinnati, Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith, Sr. had another big week with two touchdown receptions, moving into the top-50 with 83 overall TDs for his career, tying Joey Galloway for 50th as well as equaling Calvin Johnson and James Lofton for 29th in TD receptions (75). While Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald found the end zone twice in a rout over San Francisco to tie Jerome Bettis and Priest Holmes for 24th with 94 career touchdowns, the long-time receiver from Pittsburgh caught nine balls for 134 yards to pass Jamal Lewis and Hines Ward for 50th place in yards from scrimmage. Finally, Tom Brady entered the top-50 in another category: games started. The New England QB tied Ed White for 50th on the list with 210 games as a starter.

In other notes, New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall became the 45th player in NFL history to break the 10,000 receiving yards barrier, as he passed Antonio Gates for 44th place with 10,043 and Philadelphia RB/return specialist Darren Sproles notched his 6th punt return for a touchdown, tying Darrien Gordon, Dante Hall, Billy Johnson, Jermaine Lewis and Deion Sanders for 8th place all-time. The 89-yard return against the Jets, also, gives Sproles eight non-offensive touchdowns, which ties him with 19 players for 32nd, including Hall of Famers Gale Sayers, Darrell Green, Bobby Mitchell and Bill Dudley.
