As the regular season ends for most of the nation, LSU remains atop the top-25 rankings following a 3-1 week. Paul Mainieri’s Tigers earned the #1 seed at this week’s SEC Tournament in Hoover, AL and will, likely, head into the NCAA Tournament with a national seed.

TCU moves up a spot to #2, after a 4-0 week that included a three-game sweep at Oklahoma. Riding a nine-game winning streak, Jim Schlossnagle’s Horned Frogs captured the top-seed for the Big 12 Tournament in Tulsa, OK.

Illinois is, easily, the hottest team in the nation and moves up one notch to #3 after winning a pair of contests vs. Nebraska and extending their winning streak to 26 games. The Fighting Illini will storm into Minneapolis this week as the top-seed in the Big Ten Tournament.

UCLA jumps three spots to #4 on the heels of an undefeated week. John Savage’s squad won an extra-inning affair at Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday before sweeping Arizona at Jackie Robinson Stadium. In the series opener vs. the Wildcats, Bruins starter James Kaprielian tossed nine no-hit innings and reliever David Berg hurled a perfect tenth frame before Kevin Kramer’s sacrifice fly scored Christoph Bono for a 1-0 victory. With the sweep of Arizona, UCLA clinched, at least. a share of the PAC-12 title and needs one win over Oregon or an Oregon State loss to California to clinch the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Louisville falls three spots to #5 after a 2-2 week. The Cardinals lost a mid-week tilt to Vanderbilt before taking two of three at North Carolina State. Heading into the ACC Tournament, Louisville holds the top seed over the ten-team, pool-play format in Durham, NC.

Florida remains 6th, Miami-Florida advances two spots to 7th, Texas A&M falls three spots to 8th, Vanderbilt vaults four places to 9th and UC Santa Barbara creeps up two notches to round out the top ten.

Elsewhere, Missouri Valley Conference foes Missouri State and Dallas Baptist occupy the 11th and 12th spots, Florida State drops three positions to 13th after being swept at home by Clemson, while College of Charleston and Radford move up a spot to 14th and 15th, respectively.

Houston climbs one spot to 16th, Oklahoma State and Oregon State jump four spots to 17th and 18th, respectively, Florida Atlantic moves up a notch to 19th and Iowa slides nine places to 20th after losing two of three at Rutgers.

Coastal Carolina drops out of this week’s rankings after dropping two of three to Big South foe Campbell at Jim Perry Stadium in Buies Creek, NC. Filling the spot vacated by the Chanticleers, Virginia returns to the top-25 at #23 after a mid-week win vs. Richmond and a three-game sweep of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Rounding the rest of the top-25 are Rice, North Florida, Arizona State and Southern California.

Two conferences, without a post-season tournament, have regular season games this week, as UCLA’s magic number to clinch the PAC-12 title is one, as previously mentioned. Meanwhile, in the Big West, Cal State Fullerton leads UC Santa Barbara by one game as both teams have three conference games on the schedule: the Titans host Long Beach State while the Gauchos travel to UC Riverside. Should the teams end in a tie, Cal State Fullerton holds the head-to-head tie-breaker after winning two of three from UC Santa Barbara two weekends ago.

Teams that have, already, punched a ticket to the NCAA Tournament are Columbia (Ivy), Florida A&M (MEAC), Texas Southern (SWAC) and Lehigh (The Patriot).
