2014 Week 11 FCS Top-25 Rankings (11/03-11/09)

November 2, 2014

North Dakota State remains the top team in this week’s rankings after shredding South Dakota State’s defense for 290 rushing yards in a 37-17 victory in Fargo, ND and will keep the “Dakota Marker” for a 5th consecutive season. The 33rd straight victory wasn’t easy for the Bison, who trailed 10-6 at halftime – the first time in 17 games NDSU was on the short end of the scoreboard after 30 minutes.

Six top-25 teams in all, including South Dakota State, lost on Saturday. #4 Villanova was nipped by a point at #15 Richmond, #8 Montana State fell at resurgent Cal Poly, #7 Illinois State fell from the ranks of the unbeaten after a double-digit loss at #23 Northern Iowa, #18 William & Mary lost at James Madison and #25 Western Carolina suffered a humiliating 51-0 loss at home, in Cullowhee, at the hands of #11 Chattanooga.

Second-ranked Coastal Carolina kept their perfect season alive with an easy win at Gardner-Webb while Harvard stayed undefeated, despite a tough road test at Dartmouth.

By virtue of their home victories against ranked conference opponents, Cal Poly and James Madison entered the top-25, replacing William & Mary and Western Carolina.
